Tisrendel Character in Earedar | World Anvil

Tisrendel (Tiss-rend-dell)

The Fey Prince, Eldest, First of the Eldar

"Beautiful, yet terrible, he moves with a grace upon the battlefield unmatched by any mortal. His enemies tremble before his wake, flowing through them likes waves upon the sea."
Sineas Yue
A Study of the Infernal Crusade

The eldest of the Elder Gods, Tisrendel was born during The Golden Age to the Divines Vraekar and Arishanne. Also known as the Fey Prince, Tisrendel forged the realm of Evernest in the Outer Realms for the Eldar and himself. It was Tisrendel who created the first written language in the runic form of the Old Tongue, creating the Elder Script. Tisrendel gave life to the Eldar, who eventually gave way to the elven races, the Eldari, the Sidani, the Tilvanel and the Nilfanel.
Tisrendel served his mother loyally during The Godswar, fighting alongside his brothers Helmvor and Bahamut as well as his sister Tishdakalar. Tisrendel fought valiantly during the conflict, dedicating his entire people to the effort. He would become famed as a warrior and general of renown, scoring many victories against The Shadow.
Tisrendel continued the struggle against the Shadow in the Emerald Age after the passing of his mother Arishanne alongside his brothers Helmvor and Bahamut, and gracefully stepped aside for the High Council of Sanctum, ensuring peace continued amongst the forces of The Light. While he continued to lead occasional forays into the Nether Abyss against the darkness, it was during this time of relative peace that Tisrendel discovered his love for art, music and dance. He thereafter instructed his people to pursue excellence in these fields, leading to the love of all things beautiful by the Eldar.
The Age of Antiquity sees an era of even further peace amongst the Known Realms, and sees Tisrendel retreat even further from the battlefields of the Abyss. During this Age we see the last of the Eldar leave Evernest, leaving behind only their cousins the Eladrin as they migrated to the Inner Realms. We also see the beginning of Tisrendel's patronage of the arts, seen in the foundation of the International Society for the Preservation of the Arts.
It is during the Age of Shadows that we see Tisrendel return to the battlefield against the Shadow, defending the Elswyld against the encroaching hordes of darkness led by Aeltruad and accompanied by the Demonlords Timmaroth and Zalindra. Tisrendel fought valiantly against overwhelming odds, holding the Elswyld for the Light and in no small part contributing to the overall success of his allies in the Infernal Crusade. Tisrendel has spent his time since the end of that conflict during the Age of Storms between Evernest and the Elsywld, attempting to heal the damage done by the lingering corruption left by the hellish forces that laid waste there.

Faiths, Cults and Organizations

International Society for the Preservation of the Arts- More commonly referred to as the Society, this group works across borders to preserve works of beauty for future generations. Also a common patron of the arts, the Society's current focus is to gather and preserve as many works of art as possible that were lost during the Infernal Crusade. Much more scholarly than militant, the Society is most commonly located in the more "civilized" areas of Earedar. More often than not it's members boast more than a passing knowledge in all of the arts, but generally focus in one or two areas of study, pursuing them to the peak of perfection. In addition to this they often take work for the elite of society in creating artwork, performing ballads or creating plays inspired by tales of old. These works serve to fund the rest of their endeavors. Their bards are known as the best of the continent.   The Brotherhood of the Oathsworn- The largest order of paladins within the Church of Light, while independent of the church the Oathsworn functions as the military arm of the Church of the Light. This brotherhood of knights was founded during the Infernal Crusade by followers of Tisrendel, Helmvor and Xenades. These three entities form what is known as The Triumvirate.
