The Golden Age in Earedar | World Anvil

The Golden Age

After the defeat of the Primordials a long period of peace came to both Earedar and The Realms. This would be known as the Golden Age. Under the leadership of Vraekar, the Divines set down upon the task of populating and ruling the universe. Realizing the immensity of the task before them, it was decided that they would come together to create beings that could assist. It was so that Vraekar too his sisters to bed, later leading to the birth of Tisrendel and Helmvor by Arishanne as well as Eltax and Belegor by Ravenna. Despite his many efforts Celestine refused to lay with Vraekar, and thus bore him no children. It was so that the first of the Elder Gods were created.

While the children of Arishanne were good and pure, reflecting both her light and the power of Vraekar, the children of Ravenna were filled with darkness as well as their father's mighty power. The eldest of them, Tisrendel, created the first elves. Tisrendel also held dominion over art and prose. It was Tisrendel who put down the Old Tounge into runes, creating the Elder Script. The next, Eltax, created the Zunadar, or the Lizardfolk. Eltax held sway over destruction, strife, fear and natural disasters. The third, Helmvor, created the Stoneborn Dwarfs and held dominion over law, justice and honor. The final, Belegor, created the Oruki, and ruled over power, temptation, hatred and strength. Celestine refused to be left out however, and while she would not lay with Vraekar she instead created a race of her own. Looking out upon the creation of her siblings and nephew she saw beings of Light and beings of Shadow. She took from both, and thus created Humans. These peoples would comes to be known thereafter as the Elder Races.

Each of the Elder Gods created a realm of existence within which their people could live. For Tisrendel and the elves, it was Evernest. For Helmvor and the Stoneborn, Heshbenor. Belegor and his Oruki slept in the pits of Rancor, while Eltax and the Zunadar dwelled in Ghelebad. For Celestine, she kept her people within the realm of Earedar, so that they might learn to grow and live alongside the other races. Thus, each of the Elder Races prospered, and they knew happiness and prosperity. It would not last forever though, for The Godswar was to come.
