One of the Divines, Arishanne was born in The Time of Creation to Iskarne and Xultar. Arishanne fought against her father and her sister Ravenna with her mother and her siblings in the War of the Divines. After her father was defeated and her parents fell, Arishanne joined her siblings in her home in Orobeus as her brother Vraekar was crowned the Lord of Creation.
At the beginning of the Dawn Age, each of her siblings gave great gifts to their parents creation, and Arishanne was no exception. Arishanne used her own blood to set the sun ablaze in the sky, giving both life and heat to creation. This greatly upset Ravenna however, and it was only with Vraekar's intervention by creating the moon and stars that balance was restored. Arishanne fought valiantly alongside her siblings during the Chaos Wars, and it was through her efforts at diplomacy that the Elemental Lords were convinced to abandon Khazmijir and the other Primordials and join the Divines. This contributed in no small way to their eventual victory and the imprisonment of Khazmijir and his Primordials in El' Shanayah.
The defeat of the primordials ushered in a long era of peace and prosperity to the Known Realms known as The Golden Age. Under the leadership of her brother Vraekar the Divines set down upon the task of finishing their parents creation. As they went about ruling the universe, Vraekar eventually seduced his sister Arishanne, and together they had two children, the Elder Gods Tisrendel and Helmvor. While there was at times jealousy when Vraekar then seduced and lay with Ravenna, for the most part the Divines lived in peace and harmony, until The Godswar began.
The Godswar began when Ravenna returned from her meeting with the Prince of Chaos changed. After Ravenna crept into Vraekar's room while he lay with Arishanne and murdered him, Arishanne was driven to madness for a time. Consumed with rage, she rallied her host of light from her home in Sanctum as well as the forces of Orobeus against the forces of Rancor despite the flight of her sister Celestine. It was during this centuries-long battle that Arishanne created the Citadel of Light, as well as the Archangels.
These new powers and the battle that raged between them however set the universe out of balance, and thus Charon awoke from his slumber and returned. Enraged at the actions of both of his sisters, he was furious that they would risk their parent's creation for their own petty machinations. He was so furious that he invited both Arishanne and Ravenna back to Orobeus to speak of peace, and when it became obvious that no accord could be reached, he reaped them both. It was thus that Arishanne's existence ended, and her spirit transcended her physical body, and she became embodied in the The Light, enacting the lingering will of the dead Divine Arishanne. The Church of Light- The Church of the Light is the largest and most powerful religious organization in the Known Realms. Most popular amongst the Elder Races, the church is dedicated to the preservation of the light's teachings and subservience to the Lady's will. They protect the weak, attend to the poor, and are a beacon of hope in times of darkness. While sometimes this mission can be lost or corrupted within the church, they still hold great influence over most of Earedar. There are many smaller orders and fraternities within the church, the most well-known being the Oathsworn.
The Coterie- The smallfolk tell tales of a group of powerful figures dedicated to the true ideals of the Light. To protect the weak, feed the poor, and fight for those who cannot fight for themselves. Little is known about the mysterious organization known only as The Coterie, if it even exists. But legend says they work behind the scenes for the betterment of all good folk, always in secret.
