Helmvor (Helm-vohr)

Allfather, Lawbringer, Dwarflord

"And Helmvor's first commandment was thus; honor your clan, honor your king, but above all, honor yourself."
The Code of the Lawbringer

Second son of the Divines Vraekar and Arishanne, Helmvor was born during the The Golden Age. One of the Elder Gods, Helmvor is more commonly known as the Allfather or the Dwarflord. Helmvor created the realm of Heshbenor from the Nether Abyss for the Stoneborn Dwarfs and himself, as well as his other creations.
Helmvor served his mother loyally during The Godswar, fighting alongside his brothers Tisrendel and Bahamut as well as his sister Tishdakalar. Helmvor dedicated all that he had to the conflict, but was ever protective over the Stoneborn, whom he looked upon like his children. Helmvor gained fame as a relentless warrior and a ferocious combatant, defeating his half-brother Belegor in single combat upon the battlefield.
Helmvor continued in the conflict against The Shadow after the passing of his mother Arishanne alongside his brothers Tisrendel and Bahamut, but when it came time to name a new leader of The Light, Helmvor refused to step aside and allow his older brother Tisrendel become the new Lord of Creation, viewing himself as the better fit. It was only when Bahamut intervened that Helmvor was convinced to step aside and allow the High Council of Sanctum to rule over the forces of the Light, ensuring peace would continue. Helmvor continued to actively lead campaigns against the Shadow in the Nether Abyss during this time, although the day-to-day management of the conflict would largely fall upon his younger brother, Bahamut. Helmvor often intervened to assist his Stoneborn as they migrated from Heshbenor to Earedar, and was known for his frequent consultation with the High King of the Stonelands.
It was only during the Age of Antiquity that Helmvor finally began to slow down, taking Hevedra, his longtime partner, for his wife. She bore him a daughter, Duma Soulrager in the early portion of the age, and Helmvor slowly retreated from active campaigning against the Shadow to focus on his family, ruling Heshbenor, and his people. That is of course, until the rise of the First Vraekar Empire and the War of the Dragonlords, leading to the Great Schism.
The greatest Stoneborn general during the war with the dragons, Shel quickly rose to prominence, and became High King of the Stonelands after the end of the war. Revered by the people, Helmvor raised him to divinity after his passing, and thus the Dwarfen Pantheon grew by another member. However the peace was not to last. Shel was highly dissatisfied with Helmvor's leadership during the conflict, and after centuries of debate began to grow apart. The rift exploded into open conflict after Shel stole Helmvor's wife, Hevedra, leading into the Great Schism. Civil war erupted amongst the Stoneborn, dwarf slayed dwarf, and the mountain holds of the Stoneborn were awash in blood. Although Shel managed at one point to bring his forces to the famed Vale of the Dwarflords, ultimately the Stoneborn and Helmvor were victorious. Helmvor banished the surviving clans from the Stonelands, and cursed Shel and his followers for eternity. This created the Exiled Dwarfs, and enmity still exists between them and the Stoneborn today.
During the Age of Shadows we see Helmvor return to the battlefield against the Shadow, taking corporeal form upon Earedar to defend his people from the High Halls of Durmanthor. The Infernal Crusade saw massive swaths of destruction upon Earedar, but the High Kingdom of the Stonelands was able to withstand the onslaught due to the intervention of their deity, and the Stoneborn endured. Helmvor has spent the time since the end of that conflict during the Age of Storms in Heshbenor, fervently attempting to rejoin his people upon Earedar, while also attempting to raise his wayward daughter, Duma.

Faiths, Cults and Organizations

The Sons of the Allfather- The Sons hold a place of high honor and status within the society of the Stoneborn. The clergy of Helmvor often serve as trusted councilors to kings, but their primary responsibility outside of administering Helmvor's rites is serving as the judges and adjudicators of dwarfen law. In dwarfen society no individual, even a king, is above the law, and the Sons serve as the independent authorities on that law. As such, they hold an enormous amount of political power within the society of the Stoneborn, capable of overruling even the orders of the High King.
The Brotherhood of the Oathsworn- The largest order of paladins with the Church of Light, while independent of the Church the Oathsworn functions as the military arm of that entity. This brotherhood of knights was founded during the Infernal Crusade by followers of Tisrendel, Helmvor and Xenades. These three entities form what is known as the The Triumvirate.
