Hevedra (Hev-edd-rah)

Queen of Lies, The Vengeful One

"Despite is anger at Shel, it was Hevedra's betrayal that cut the deepest. Helmvor loved her more than all the rest, and after the events of the Schism he was never quite the same."
The History of the Stoneborn

Hevedra was born in Heshbenor during Emerald Age. Hevedra was a mighty warrior and cunning clan chief during her life, and caught the eye of Helmvor from a very early age. Helmvor wooed her, and when they were married he elevated her to divinity before her death. Helmvor was smitted with Hevedra from the start, and she bore him his only child, Duma Soulrager during the late portion of the Emerald Age.
While Hevedra did love Helmvor at first, she quickly became frustrated with how she was treated, feeling shut out of her husband's councils and her advice ignored. Hevedra had been a leader of the Stoneborn Dwarfs in her life, and was intelligent, cunning and ambitious. She desired to wield power again. When Shel came to her, frustrated with his inability to solve what he viewed as a crisis after the War of the Dragonlords and the growing inequality amongst the Stoneborn, she listened to his concerns, slowly poisoning him against Helmvor. Hevedra had long been secretly looking for a way to gain power in the Pantheon, and she viewed Shel's growing popularity after his rise as her best way. This culminated in a titanic clash between the two Lesser Gods and Helmvor within the halls of Heshbenor when Helmvor discovered their union, but despite having both of their power combined, they could not overwhelm Helmvor, and fled for the safety of Earedar.
Over the following decades Hevedra convinced Shel to walk amongst the clans themselves, spreading his vision of a better way for Dwarfenkind. Overtime he managed to convince several clans to follow his leadership, beginning the Great Schism. The war lasted for centuries, and caused great amounts of death and destruction amongst Dwarfen lands. Despite the savagery of the fighting, Helmvor ultimately came out victorious, and thus exiled Shel, Hevedra and their followers, inflicting Helmvor's Curse upon them and creating the Exiled Dwarfs. Hevedra has since been worshipped by the Exiled in their holds across Earedar, as they plot a way to regain their former strength and oust Helmvor from his seat in Heshbenor.

Servants of the People- The Servants of the People hold an almost complete stranglehold over all religious, political and economic power within Exiled society. The priest of Shel act as judge, jury and in some cases executioner in administering Shel's laws. These laws are based almost entirely upon the Dictums of the Living God, which are memorized by the Exiled at an early age and repeated daily. This organization reveres Shel above all others, and then Hevedra as his wife.   Ministry of Truth- The Ministry of Truth is the eyes and ears of the government of the Exiled, revering Hevedra above all others but Shel. The Ministry encourages all citizens to report any infractions of Shel's laws, no matter how minor, to ensure compliance. They are amongst the most effective information gathers in Earedar, and one can never be sure if a Truthspeaker or one of their assets is nearby. As such they have attained an almost mythical reverence and fear amongst the Exiled.
