My dear and much-loved subjects,
On the morrow of
our brillant victory against Illénie and Rénance, it is nevertheless with deep sorrow that I have to write to you. Indeed, you must all been made aware of the deeply upsetting events that took place on the front just as we were readying for celebrations.
During the war, a great many soldiers and officers brilliantly distinguished themselves by their skills, their genius, and their sacrifices that combined together to make our army invincible despite the enemies' traitorousness. Among these individuals, the name of
Lord General Enélien Cenlys has often been shared in the bulletins dispatched home.
However, we have now been horrified to learn that Cenlys has used the cover of the war to commit the worst abuses, transforming his entire camp into a macabre and depraved hell. There, laws have been meaningless for the length of the war, and the human sacrifices and other abominations have made torrents of blood flow in the camp furrows. How could this have escaped us all for so long, you wonder. Unfortunately, Cenlys has terrified all of his subordinate into silence for fear of being subject to a similar fate. Worse, he even corrupted many officers into following in his footsteps, including
Lady General Sandeux in person.
Of course, as soon as the the news of Cenlys' behaviour finally reached
Esteille, we ordered his arrestation and that he be brought to us to be court-martialed. But rather than surrender with dignity, once he found himself cornered Cenlys threw away the mask and proudly arbored the
banner of Dark Lords. He then took advantage of the shock this caused among our rank and fled ignominiously to avoid being forced to deal with the consequences of his crimes.
This is why we now declare that from this day on, Enélien Cenlys and anyone found to associate with him or abade him are traitors to the nation of
Nélannie and criminals wanted by all the armed forces of the kingdom. All citizens are henceforth required to denounce any of these individuals upon which they would fall and to share anything suspicious on the matter that would come to their knowledge
I know that good subjects such as you will understand the severity of the events and that you will all act in consequence.
