Young World

The Young World is the name for the state of Ayu from the Enlightenment till the present day. This era is divided into several parts, described below.

The Enlightenment

Many things happened as a consequence of the Tower of Ubrem falling at the end of the Relict World. First, Hrememun and Ork'luso did not survive the fall; they died upon hitting the ground. Second, the tower broke a hole in the firmament as it fell. This opened up a way to Celestium of the Monumidium , and blindingly divine light poured out of this hole, along with many other shards of Asterite that fell upon Mount Uchioku, near the Arizathrans, among the Juhsen Ranges, and many other locations lost to time. The divine light spread across Ebdypha and burned away the clouds and upper layers of the Old Seas. The waters fell so heavily over a short period that it carried minerals from all the newly exposed lands back into the oceans and formed the New Sea, which were salty, and which pushed down what remained of the fresh waters of the Old Seas below Abdypha itself.
When humans beheld the divine light, known today as the sun, they saw the light of the Monumidium, and in them something changed. The consciousness within them truly flared, and it saw things not only as they were but as they could be, and they developed willpower. Even other non-human things, like the Ithoids, became aware of themselves on seeing the divine light. Rather than becoming enlightened, the Eah had lost their immunity to the immense power of the Monumidium's light, and Mirvahadh, Cuuhuina, and Ashurnuq all perished when struck by the divine beams. Additionally, there are scars in the Firmament that linger to the present day: The sky around the Thousand Towers region is constantly ravaged by broiling thunderstorms, and in some parts of the world, the Monumidium shines through in bold, blazing rays of divine light, even during the night.

Age of the Scorched Earth

Ebdypha became a tumultuous land following the Enlightenment. Half the Eah and several Runar died at the beginning of this age, creating huge power vacuums in many lands. Most continents saw much war: Zhezel and Faeer fight for control of western Syrasha, several groups of people fight over Asterite shards, Wchaxemn is slain and the Gchoulems begin to create artificial life, western Irisqaad is ravaged by the fallout from the death of Ashurnuq, Cuuhuina's children part ways and some dabble with forbidden magic, the Ghul start to spread across northern Heruadum, many of the Selhavals forget Mirvahadh's songs, and much more. This age was brought to an end by two concurrent events: The war between Zhezel and Faeer is halted when Faeer is sealed by Zhezel underground, and Mount Uchioku erupts and covers Nwechou in darkness and ash.

Age of the Dark Earth

What followed was an age more terrible than the last. Even though Zhezel was sealed away, their war was far from over. Meanwhile, Adyadun and Reas fight the Rahhtaurs, Abdemn commits suicide and war breaks out between the Ebtarrai and ToaccaiGchoulem civilisation falls apart as they fail to construct their artificial god, Torohnuq's body is consumed by his high priests and warriors which forms the Tarshir Cult of Reliqus, Arizathrans murder Halamera and tried to surpass death but instead became separated and ended up near the Ghul, and great wars break out across the Ibrium desert between Ibriumites and Hrk'mun over Chrystals. This age eventually came to an end when Alaiea sacrificed herself in order to bring fertility to the dying lands, bringing an end to the ages where gods and demigods would die and be slain.

The Seasonal Age

Ebdypha entered an age of balance wherein periods of warm and growth were followed by periods of cold and rest, and seasons came about thanks to Alaeia's sacrifice. This age started long ago, and ever since then, no events have happened to change the face of Ebdypha so much as to mark a new age.
