Reas

Humans who came under the rule of Bbatlam but eventually came to devour him and his Celesvenum and possess mental powers. The traditional funeral of a Reas involves other Reas consuming the dead in order to strengthen their psychic abilities. Non-Reas do not gain anything from eating the body of a Reas. There is only one place that Reas claim for themselves, and that is the Roaring Jungle, occupied by the Dapanam Clans. It is said that the greatest clan ruled by Fybati Reat possesses Bbatlam's bones, which house their own power, but non-Reas are hunted and killed on entering the jungle, and even Reas are attacked for favouring the ways of modern civilisation. Followers of Fybati Reat are known as God-eaters.

The majority of Reas live in the cities of Heruadum and Syrasha, finding purpose in lending their powers to those who need and can afford them. It is common for rulers to have a Reas on their court, and they also make good investigators or seers, depending on their psychic specialty. Though the Adyaduns have since overlooked the slights of the ancestral Reas, their is an ingrained hatred between Reas and Rahhtaurs that lingers to this day; they rarely tolerate one another's presence.
Reas possess innate psychic ability from birth, but are also born with no sense of hearing whatsoever. This makes raising a Reas difficult, as they must either learn to read and write, or learn Reas sign language. Most Reas remove or mutilate their own ears, and wear large headdresses to hide the scars and warn others of their natural abilities.
