Cuuhuina

Cuuhuina was one of the most powerful Eah. She was a being of water, sought creation through conception and tradition, and represented charisma. She is associated with Beasts and New Plants. She did not survive the Enlightenment, but she is survived by The Sanctum, which is a Guruan religion that teaches her ways and protects her body.

Cuuhuina, The Sanctuary

Cuuhuina's realm was peaceful, for when she descended among vast wetlands, so soft was the land that the ground sunk and a great depression formed. Rivers and seas threatened to flood it, but her ability was of wood and she turned trees into walls, so the flood turned instead to mist. The wetlands became dark and quiet, but rather than being a lowland of death like Yihyaphem's great shadow, Cuuhuina's lands were blessed and so filled with life; the trees grew up and up, canopy upon canopy, forming many different layers that rose out of the depression and above any other tree, and beasts of all kinds came to this sanctuary for life itself. So in love with creation was Cuuhuina that she wanted to spread it, but she also did not desire to leave her haven, so she created Runaric of her own mighty being—fragments of herself—and she named them Alaiea and Halamera, and the three of them dwelt with the Curuhan in the Sunken Forest, temporarily safe from the chaos of the wider world.

This safety saw an end when Cuuhuina died during the Enlightenment. With Cuuhuina deceased, the Runar Alaiea and Halamera wanted to leave the Sunken Forest. Alaiea took her followers called the Erwilen and sailed west, settling in a new verdant valley and upholding Cuuhuina's love of nature in her memory. Halamera took her followers, the Arizathrans, southward, and they lived on islands and studied the creations of Cuuhuina. Those who stayed in the Sunken Forest closed themselves off to all and became the Guruans.
