Guruans

Humans who remained in the Sunken Forest after the death of Cuuhuina. After the Erwilen and Arizathrans left, the Guruans became afraid of outside invasion. For a long time they mourned for Cuuhuina, and struggled to find the ways forward. Some said they needed to find a new goddess to protect and provide for them, while others said that this would lead to the very invasion they all feared.   The eventual decision was to immortalise the body and @celesof Cuuhuina in a sacred place within the Sunken Forest, and continue to worship her and remember her legacy. Cuuhuina's body is kept in the deepest grove, where she once dwelt. The Sunken Forest is normally a dark place, but here, divine light has never touched. A wooden temple known as The Sanctum is found here, and is adorned with intricate carvings houses the body itself, and the doorway is flanked by two great pillars, covered in ancient glyphs. Gifts of flowers and fruits constantly cover the bases of the pillars. The shrine also features a pool of clear and fresh water containing pebbles, each bearing the name of a deceased Guruan.
Guruans tend to be a little shorter than average. They have a very robust immune system, which includes a resistance to poisons and disease, but they are limited to a diet of plants, as they are unable to digest meat without extreme difficulty. They tend not to leave the Sunken Forest. When the more adventurous Guruans do leave, they will often travel to places that have the cover of forest. Even though sunlight does not harm them, they remain wary of the bane of their goddess to this day.
