How Unfortunate.

by August

Unfortunate.

That is categorically the only word to describe what happened today.

I truly wish that our decisions as a group had been more… Prompt. When I went into the Brew’s home I was annoyed by the fact that the control was out of our hands; there was no way we could have changed the situation to suit our needs if we didn’t have a good idea as to what the situation was. Once we figured out what the situation was, what did we do?

Nothing.

We sat there arguing about how to act rather than acting, and instead we had action forced on us. And now, unfortunately, we will have no idea about certain things with Sarah and her deal. What happened to the statue? It wasn’t there when Sil first went below the house, so how did she make it? Was that how the creature came across the planes - using the statue as a beacon? Could I have made use of the augmented wide-spread nature of this weird charming effect somehow? How could we have made use of the pact between her and the creature? Could we have transferred it?

We’ll never know, will we.

I definitely should have done something rather than stayed quiet; my hopes to see what the group would do given everything unfortunately cost a woman her life, and she did nothing wrong. I really felt for Sarah, and given the opportunity I can definitely say I would have done the same things. Next time I’ll do what I did with the Brew’s house; rather than waiting for the group to come to a decision for an hour, I’ll take matters into my own hands make certain we know what it is we’re dealing with.

This time? An unfortunate lack of decision. One that won’t be repeated.
