Summary

Complete with a peg leg, tricorn hat, and parrot on his shoulder, Captain Hawk looks the part of a storybook pirate, and his gruff voice is just as loud as his attire. He's been a pirate captain for decades, despite repeatedly blowing up or otherwise destroying his ships.
He is the inspiration behind popular comic series The Adventures of Captain Hawk

Reputation

Did you know?

Captain Hawk's parrot is named Captain Squawk.
Much like his comic book counterpart, Captain Hawk is a walking anachronism, with his speech and dress better suiting a stage than a position of authority. His orders and actions are often unpredictable, and he's known for sacrificing his own ship to use as a projectile, bomb, or other distraction if it helps accomplish his goals. He'll offer near anyone a spot on his crew, resulting in an unusual hodge-podge of skillsets.   Despite all these oddities and questionable decisions, his methods end up surprisingly effective. He's earned the loyalty of his crew and a reputation of compitence. No matter how unexpected.

Actions

Notable acts of piracy:
  • Crashes parties to steal their booze
  • Takes over rest stops for private parties
  • Steals from museums to return items to their origins
  • Destroys mining colonies that use forced labor
  • Intercepts Protectorate prisoner transfer convoys
  • Steals cargo to resell and smuggles illicit goods
Captain Hawk has been a fixture in the pirate community ever since he blew up his first ship, the Dragon's Daughter I, in the docking bay at Parala. While this did successfully stop his target from fleeing the consequences of their traitorous actions, it also put him on Alice's bad side, where he remains to this day.   Among his most memorable acts was a prison break on Astronius in 3208. He dropped the Dragon's Daughter IV out of orbit at an angle calculated for it to crash land in the vacant fields near the prison. The landing was far enough to minimize the cost in life, but near enough to destroy a portion of the building and allow dozens of inmates to escape.   This was done, in part, at the behest of the Night Knights, who needed to free the unjustly-imprisoned Tavari Zima. Among other escapees was a young woman named Brady, who invited herself onto the Captain's crew. She remains First Mate to this day.   For all the unfavorable terms people may use for Captain Hawk, he's never described as bloodthirsty the way certain other pirates may be. He honors surrenders, treats prisoners with dignity, and never uses non-combatants as hostages.

A digital comic series glorifying the exploits of the actual pirate known as Captain Hawk.

Author Commentary

Inspiration
Captain Hawk is based off of Captain Hook from Peter Pan and Seahawk from She-Ra. The goal was to make him as over-the-top as possible.
Being Vocal
I'm not very good at doing a gruff, booming voice but I try.
