Luthien Seawolf
Luthien is the illegitimate second son of Lord Calder Seawolf. His mother, Lady Fhaora Darkwood, was estranged from her own people, and the best friend of Lord Calder's second wife, Lady Darhana Arroway. Though she was never officially married to his father, Fhaora lived in Calder's household from before Luthe's birth until she died when he was six. Luthe has never been in the line of succession for the Seawolf house, but he received the same noble upbringing as his half-siblings until he was sent to a Senary temple for further education when he was 13. It was not originally a holy calling, but rather an advanced education at the hands of the temple clergy, but he had an encounter with a god in his first year and became an acolyte instead. He is still not entirely sold on the actual idea of being in the service of a god, much less two gods, but since his personal ideals line up with those taught to the followers of both gods, he's fumbling along. He is currently supposed to be on a journeyman voyage of sorts, though he is expected to check in at the temple or with his mentor occasionally.

Education
Until the age of 13, Luthe was raised in an affluent Noble household and educated by the best tutors his father's money could buy. When he outgrew this method of education, clearly outpacing his siblings and companions, his father and older brother decided to send him to a temple school instead with an eye on him attending an Eschean University.
Mental Trauma
Luthe's mother died when he was six, at which point a fairly involved and benevolent father became distant and harsh. After that Luthien was raised primarily by his older half-brother, Roarke Seawolf, and the household staff.

Luthe is most closely bonded to his best friend and later bodyguard Lord Fletchor Silverhold and the third in their trio, Wilhand Darkeyes.
He has close ties to his older brother's bodyguard and partner, Jory, as well as Simon, who was one of his brother's first bodyguards and later Luthe's.
He also has close ties to his Temple family - his 10-person Cohort who he lived with while he was in school, their house-parent Taskin Dal, and his partner Kevian Spelloyal who would later become Luthe's mentor as a cleric.
Family Ties
Despite being fairly estranged from his father, Luthe has strong family ties. He was practically raised by his older half-brother Roarke, and is only a year apart and very close to his half-brother Keenan Seawolf. He is also fairly close to his half-sister Daire Seawolf, Keenan's full sister, and his father's third wife Lady Thana Swiftwind. He is loyal to, but less familiar with, Thana's children Lady Sorcha Seawolf and Lord Tierney Seawolf.

Luthe, like most Escheans, is a follower of The Senary, but he also follows his mother's patron Liril.

History
Simon transferred from being Roarke's bodyguard to Luthien's only at Roarke's direct request. He has watched Luthien grow up and does know him, but does not quite love him as well as he does Roarke.
