Jory Reza
Jory is both the bodyguard and platonic life partner of Luthien Seawolf's older brother and Seawolf Heir Roarke Seawolf. He is technically a follower of Sekhay, but he was educated almost entirely outside of any temple by his mentor, Simon, and thus often runs afoul of the traditional elements within the Sekhaim.

Jory is in excellent physical condition; he is unlikely to be bested at anything physical or martial around the Seawolf estate except perhaps by Simon in hand-to-hand, or Roarke himself in swordsmanship.

Personal history
Jory was plucked from a local family, the son of one of Lord Calder Seawolf's captains, to be a companion for his son. The man had many children, Calder simply selected the one closest in age to Roarke, and that was Jory. At the time, Jory was 6 and Roarke was 3. They became fast friends and inseperable.
When Jory was 8, he declared he was going to be Roarke's protector forever. He started begging Roarke's bodyguards to train him; one was recalled to a new assignment, but Simon Padron stayed and at first turned him down, honestly assuming the boy would eventually lose interest. Two years later, he finally agreed to start giving Jory the basics of an education as a Guardian, and when he was 13, he formally took him on as Guardianalis. Every year from the time Jory was 10 until he was 15, he sat his protege down and tried to convince him to go to a Temple and join a Cadet cohort and do things the traditional way, but Jory refused. He was willing to train hard, and look to Sekhay for guidance, but he was never interested in serving anyone except Roarke. At fifteen, when Simon sat him down to try and convince him again, Jory brought Roarke along and then told Simon they were partners, for life and in every way, and if it weren't for Lord Calder and Roarke being the Seawolf Heir, they'd likely get married to show it to the world. After that, Simon stopped asking.
Jory stayed in training with Simon until he was 20 and could undergo The Dreaming; then he took his place as Roarke's second bodyguard and the other Sekhaim guard went home to be reassigned. When Jory and Roarke convinced Simon to transfer to the protection of Roarke's half-brother Luthien when the boy was sent off to school, Jory was poised to take over as Roarke's primary bodyguard, but Simon stepped in and firmly, but gently, reminded him that his personal partnership in this case made that unacceptable. So, Jory stayed Roarke's second bodyguard, and Simon hand-selected his replacement primary.

Jory is fairly asexual, with demisexual perhaps being the more correct term. He is romantically attached to only Roarke, with no romantic or sexual interest in anyone else. They've shared a physical relationship in the past, and would do so in the future, but it is not an important part of their relationship.
Education
Jory was educated in the Seawolf household alongside Roarke, with all of his tutors and teachers. Simon, meanwhile, taught him everything about being a warrior and a guardian.
Employment
Jory technically draws a salary as a Seawolf bodyguard, but he sends nearly all of it back to the Temple, as Roarke also provides for anything he needs or wants. He is also quietly paying for the education of his youngest sister who does not want to marry, and setting aside a dowery for if she chooses to use it, as the girl has had a falling-out with their father.

Motivation
Jory loves Roarke. He is loyal to Roarke above all else, and loves and protects what Roarke loves and protects. After that, he is loyal to Sekhay because Simon serves them, and he believes that the deity will help him in his protection of Roarke if he needs help.

Simon trained Jory from the time he was 10 to be a Guardian, and specifically to be Roarke's Guardian. He regards the younger Sekhaim as a son.
