Kakan

There is nothing better than a friend, unless it is a friend with chocolate
— Linda Grayson
Kakan is the center of trade for the tropical regions of Salaris. It is most well known for the distribution and export of cacao beans, cacao powder, processed cocoa powder, and chocolate liquor.

Industry & Trade

Located within the tropical jungle of Salaris, Kakan operates primarily as a packaging and distribution town of various goods and resources found withing the heart of the jungle. Many such businesses and warehouses operate within the town itself.   Farmers and producers living all around Kakan sell their products to distributors and exporters located in the town. Even those small, family farmers who choose to live in more remote areas will travel to Kakan to sell their goods. Distillers, hunters, and loggers also sell to these exporters and distributors.   While the town deals with a wide variety of resources and products, it is most well known and loved for cacao.

Tourism

Agritourism and jungle excursions are the bulk of the tourism occuring in and around Kakan. Visitors can witness the cacao fermenting and drying processes or trek through the jungles in search of fresh, tropical fruits and the chance to spot wildlife. This is a growing industry that directly supports both the town and the farmers. Kakani leadership are seeking to expand this through partnership with nearby coastal towns.   Kakan is the best place to experience cacao in all its forms. Visitors can drink freshly squeezed cacao juice, a specialty to the region because of the juice's short shelf life, try raw cacao beans, and try fermented cacao juice or liquors.
Kakan sees the most visitors during their annual chocolate festival, a massive celebration of the town's primary product. The town claims its chocolate festival to be the biggest in all Imbria.
