YoCP Episode 17.5: Thrud's Meeting
After dinner, Thrud tells us she'd like to talk. While Kass and I join her, Zeldine volunteers to entertain Felix for the time being.
"I guess there had to be a first some day," Thrud starts as soon as the door closes to her office. "We occasionally have parents contacting us with names of the children they have given away so easily before, but that we can handle. Having past family here for a visit sets a precarious precedent. How did this come about?" Kass and I stand straight, feeling like were being scolded like naughty children.
"He, uh, came to me. Had been looking for me, I guess, "I state, before I hurry to add: "But he seems really kind and understanding."
"He really does!" Kass is quick to agree.
Thrud's eyes dart between us, as she takes a moment to think, before letting out a heavy sigh.
"Very well. I'm gonna trust you on this. But another time, I'll need to know beforehand. Especially if it's a parent the next time. It might give the little ones false hope."
"Never gonna happen," I'm quick to promise.
