Frost Mountains
Located along the northern edge of the Summervine river valley is the Frost Mountains. Gigantic geographical features of stone and ice with a constant runoff that replenishes the Summervine year round.
Geography
Bordered by the inhospitable tundra of the Kazus Wastes to the north, and the fertile geothermal valley of the Summervine to the south the Frost mountains extend across the kingdom of Aldir (ALL-deer) from east to west. Some of the highest peaks on the continent (excluding those in the Wastes) exist within this range, and the Summervine itself is primarily sourced by the runoff of these mountains.
Fauna & Flora
On the southern side of the mountains you will find much of the same plant and wildlife that you'll encounter in Aldir. Namely all manner of creatures mundane and otherwise as well as the occasional dragon. As you get further into the mountain range, and higher in elevation the transition from the taiga biome to the tundra biome starts to become more apparent, as plants and animals become more and more scarce until they eventually cannot be found.
Natural Resources
The Frost Mountains are Aldir's primary source of limestone as well as raw ores like bronze and iron. The Dwarves of Kaer-Duval have been mining those resources for centuries and, while the mines yield has lessened, they are no where near depleted.
