Island District

Located almost perfecting in the center of the city on a chain of islands in the Summervine River is the Island District. The history of the city of Amaranthine began with the Island District, and the Temple of the Lady standing on the Lady's Child, the smaller of the two main islands.

Government

The Island district is an interesting exception to the traditional paradigm of Judges. While it is still an appointment made by the king, it is always one of the clerics at the Temple of the Lady and the one that is selected almost always comes at the suggestion of the High Cleric of the temple himself. Currently the position is held by Cleric Feloran, a half elf male who is in his final year as the Judge for the Island District.

History

The Isle of the Gods is, in truth, two large islands and three smaller ones though nobody really considers them as such. The largest and westernmost island, known as the lady of the storm, contains most of the residential and commercial properties in the district. The smaller, eastern island call the Lady’s Child is almost entirely dominated by the Temple of the Lady. The two islands are connected by two bridges so wide that most visitors to the city don’t even recognize them for what they are, considering them instead to be continuations of the two main boulevards that cross the islands east to west. The three smaller islands, as yet unnamed, are actually further east down the river overlooked by the Bastion. While the three islets were deemed too small for any serious construction it has not stopped smugglers and the like from using the small wooded cover they offer as hiding places for their ill gotten gains.
