The Village

The youngest district in Amaranthine, the village is home to most of the farming communities that keep the city fed and supplied. Although it is still part of the city proper, the atmosphere existing in this district is far more like a small village than a large city and many city dwellers find themselves visiting the open fields and rustic taverns of The Village as a means of escaping city life...without actually escaping it.

Government

The judge of the village is currently an elderly female gnome name Celnoa. She has a reputation for being a rather severe and cantankerous judge and one would do well not to end up depending on her for leniency as in the last six years of her appointment she has never given anyone a break.

Assets

Inns and shops are pretty far and few in between, and those that are there are generally engineered towards supporting the local farming community.

History

The Village was the last district brought into the confines of the city wall, existing before hand as the city’s primary bread basket. Urbanization of the area has not progressed as aggressively as the other districts so it is not a strange site to pass from one street lined with apartments and homes and find oneself in the middle of a square acre field managed by a farmhouse constructed of wood and straw not even a block later. The people in this part of the city are understandably more humble than most, and prefer to keep to themselves and their families. In fact, this district almost functions like a sovereign settlement unto itself with several holidays and festivals that they alone celebrate when the rest of the city does not.
