The Stem

The district located directly north of the Summervine river and the Isle of the Gods, The Stem is best known for being the location of the Little Fields Market, which is the largest fresh produce market in the city. More infamously is the Court of Miracles located a few blocks north of the market.

Government

Currently the Stem is governed by Ralosandoral, a male elf and well established merchant who works very hard to not be involved at all, instead delegating most of his responsibilities to his primary aid, a human woman by the name of Sevela Forestvale. Officially, her orders and actions come from Ralosandoral himself, but most of the residents of the Stem knows that if you want something done Sevela is who you talk to.

Assets

The Stem is home to the largest fresh market in the city. Virtually any produce in the city has passed through this district.

History

If The Royal District is the crown of the city, then the Stem is its backbone. Located directly north of the island district the Stem is home to the little fields market, which is the cities largest and principle fresh food market. Here one can find stalls providing fresh produce from all over the continent as well as market stalls representing some of the various shops located elsewhere in the city. North of the market, which makes its home more or less in the middle of the district, is the Court of Miracles, the dingiest slum in the entire city named for the army of cripples who seem to be miraculously healed by the end of the day after begging some coin off of you. By way of travel advisory, the court of miracles is a very dangerous place where even the city watch hesitates to tread, enter at your own risk.

Architecture

Closer to the river the Stem transforms into a more middle class area with two of the three bridges crossing the Summervine entering into the stem. One can expect to find pleasant cafes and restaurants. Affordable and comfortable inns as well as the some of the finest theaters in the city.
