The Vandals in

Throwdown

Violence erupted all over the The Lowlands, and somehow the Vandals found themselves in the middle of all of it.
Vendetta and Disruptr got valuable intel from Tony Staxx, who gave them a key card to the service elevator in the basement garage of Grapevine. Vendetta promised Tony that the Vandals would rescue his daughter's boyfriend, Marcus, in exchange for the location of Becca Marlow. The meeting was interrupted by the Steel Panthers, who were searching for the Vandals, looking to get some revenge for the beating they received at Finley St Station(see issue 1-Hell on Wheels). They tried to make a stealthy getaway but due to some gadgets failing and the sheer number of bikers out to get them, the girls were cornered and forced to fight. The battle didn't go well for the Panthers, and the girls bonded over mutual heroics and a love of smoke bombs.
Kinetic had resolved to train more after her deadly encounter with The Syndicate(see issue 3-Neon Lobotomy). She went to Sunkido Combat Arts to get some lessons from her coach, Rang 'Rat-a-tat' Jae-Sun. Rang convinced her to represent his gym in an exhibition match with a visiting student from the Saint Anastasia Orphanage and School. Given her choice of three potential match ups, Kinetic chose to take on the tall, dark, and brooding young Terrance. Kinetic had no idea that these visiting students were the alter egos of Vendetta's old team, the Nightstalkers, and Terrance was a powerful Shifted hero known as Penance. The two had an intense match, with Kinetic struggling against her relentless opponent, and almost claiming victory by following Rang's gameplan, but ultimately Terrence was able to overpower her and she was forced to tap to an armbar. Terrence's friends, Amara and Heyoon(Wrath and Mercy), were both friendly and congratulatory after the match. Amara, who seemed cold and calculating at first, warmed up to Rani and invited her to pray with them, as the three are all devout members of the Illuminated Church of the Golden Sun.
Joni Whelan and Yeti Boy hit up Dutch for some work, and ended up driving his dump truck to Shimizu St Transfer Station in Blast Town to pick up some parts and equipment for the shop. They met up with Dutch's old friend, Frank Sheridan, who offered them some extra credits to deal with the Steel Panthers who were setting up shop in the junkyard. The siblings found the bikers and lured them into an ambush, where Big Sis pulled down a tower of crushed cars on the bikers while Yeti Boy questioned one he had captured. They discovered a hidden cook house, where the Panthers had been producing and storing Ket-D. They destroyed the equipment and burned the lab down.
Vendetta called for a meeting at The Clinic, and everyone caught each other up on the day's events. The Vandals agreed to save Marcus, and began to hatch a plan to get in and out of Grapevine as cleanly as possible.
