Steel Panthers Organization in The Spiderweb | World Anvil

Steel Panthers

An outlaw bike club; the Steel Panthers once controlled territory throughout Edge City and the rural towns to the east, but years of street warfare have dwindled their numbers and power, and the gang now operates only out of The Lowlands and The Outer Loop.   The Panthers deal in firearms and designer drugs, and are currently focused on selling Ket-D, the hottest drug in The Canyons.

Culture

The most important thing to the Steel Panthers is loyalty, joining the gang is becoming part of the family, membership is for life. Panthers lead chaotic and violent lives, and those lives are often cut short, so the gang treats every night like their last night on earth. Possessed of legendary appetites and rarely short on credits, the gang is well known for hosting some of the wildest parties in Edge City.

Assets

The Steel Panthers deal in firearms and designer drugs, so members have plentiful access to both. The gang owns and maintains a fleet of high street cycles, including some experimental Triumph-Yamabishi military prototypes from a highjacked Securicorps shipment.

History

The Steel Panthers were originally formed from what was left of the three largest gangs in the southwest after The Great Quakes. The merger of the gangs was a major accomplishment of Miguel Manuel Torres, the Iron Spider, who saw the potential benefits of a united biker cartel with close ties to Las Plagas. With the backing of Las Plagas, the Steel Panthers were able to become the dominant force in black market trade outside of Edge City. However, over the years as more gangs rose up with the ambition of overthrowing Las Plagas, the Panthers were used as street soldiers and enforcers, suffering great losses as they did so. As the Panthers grew weaker, it was Las Plagas that moved in our their rural trade routes, leaving them no choice but to gather the gang in Edge City. When Lockjaw took over as club president, it was clear to him that Las Plagas had little respect left for them, as the gang was "gifted" territory in The Lowlands. When The Syndicate made their move and began an all out turf war in The Canyons, Lockjaw made the decision to cut ties to Las Plagas and back the Jade Scorpion.

Standing shoulder to shoulder with my brothers, united by loyalty and honor.
