Regular Securer
A fully-trained member of the Executive Securer Division.
Qualifications
Like every member of the Securer Force, a gotu is required to hold a basic degree in law studies. They are familiar with the most commonly violated laws, have a thorough understanding of the underlying mindset from which they were created, and are able to distinguish between a law's literal text and the intention behind it.
In addition, every gotu has completed 1.5 years of training.
Training encompasses basic combat training and piloting skills, plus specialized lessons tailored to the section in which this particular Securer is employed.
- Combat Section (mitgu ifegmami): multiple weapon categories and unarmed fighting techniques
- Traffic Section (mitgu vumpami): complex aircraft maneuvers such as intercepting irresponsible pilots
- Order Section (mitgu tagmefomi ): negotiation and crowd-control skills
- Disaster Section (mitgu guami ): containing hazards such as fires, chemical spills or bioweapon effects
- etc.
Requirements
Every Securer with the necessary qualification is eligible for this rank.
Appointment
After finishing their training, the respective year's graduates are promoted to the rank of gotu in a ceremony held at their district's headquarters. The names are read out loud by their section's leader (ipiz) and their new privileges are unlocked in the Securers' network.
Duties
For most Rilsu, the gotu are the prototypical Securers. They are the most likely members of the Securer Force to interact with the general public, so their conduct directly affects the public opinion of the organization. Consequently, they have to be mindful of their actions even when they are under pressure, and transgressions are not taken lightly by their superiors.
Responsibilities
Unlike the nuruta who are still in training, a gotu is sent to regular missions, usually as part of a squad. Depending on their experience and the current demand, this can include anything from guard duty to patrolling the streets or coordinated attacks on specific crime hotspots.
