Season 6, Episode 10: "The Infinite Line" Report
General Summary
The Dark Walkers and the Dream Team clashed, the former testing the latter, searching for some semblance of promise — a reason to turn over Mist's soul. The crew quickly found themselves at a disadvantage, out of their element against creatures native to the Void, who could speak freely, and manipulate the space around them with ease. They kept the party divided whenever possible, often in a vulnerable position, careful to keep dangerous match-ups apart.
Of note, Siren noticed Flay had yet to cross the Infinite Line, and pushed his memories of the Mirror of Azlant into her brain, rocking her psyche outside of the Monad's sphere of influence. Delikul shunted her around with his undead soldiers, which Langdon was forced to burn away before the group was overwhelmed, allowing Lockette to focus on the necromancer.
David made a point of targeting Tesin, using his prowess as a swordsman to overwhelm, while Tommen leapt on Isra, playing mind games to keep her from casting spells. Chamas initially hesitated to take on Mist, as his body rose up and began attacking them, but eventually gave into Odium, knocking sense back into the Ysoki — literally — before closing in with the rest of the team.
The tide turned when Shalema and Ololot arrived, too impatient to wait on the ship, and together the family trio wiped out David and Siren, after which ominous counters appeared over the spirits' heads, prompted by warnings from the System. Sensing that they didn't want that counter to hit 0, the group rapidly focused-in on Delikul and then Tommen — an overwhelming barrage of fire that even the Mantle Ghosts couldn't resist — and at last the battlefield was emptied.
Tommen's disembodied voice gave Mist his approval, saying the Ysoki could continue with his proposed way of doing things, and then the Dark Walkers transported the group back to the City of Pleated Light. Now back in the flow of time, Mist was quickly hit by the damage given to him by Jestyr three months past, and was saved only by the quick application of the Mask Maker, which offered a buffer against his complete annihilation. Then Flay felt the plight of the Monad, who had swiftly noticed her new status, only to be stopped as Isra deployed the Blessing of the Matriarch, sending all of the Dream Team into the unknown...
