Dark Walkers

The Dark Walkers are a legion of uncountable individuals who have worn the Mantle of the Dark Walker. While all Dark Walkers but the current one are by definition deceased, those who have held the Mantle enough times across the Entwined Infinities can manifest about the current bearer as ghosts, which are connected to impressions left in the Void. Only four such notable individuals exist, which are Tommen, Delikul, David Bastion, and Siren.   The current Dark Walker is Thunder in the Mist.

Structure

While the Dark Walkers have no official structure, there is a general hierarchy of respect which favors those who have held the Mantle the longest. The current Dark Walker often holds a special place in this social chain of command, but their exact placement is a function of their capability and devoutness to the Edicts.

Public Agenda

The Dark Walkers are not shy about sharing their greatest wish — the destruction of the Entwined Infinities, including the death of the Godhead, which would lead to a new existence from the ashes. They claim neutrality is key to this process, meaning that none should get to dictate what form this new universe takes, and go to great lengths to ensure that any faction with such a goal is swiftly brought down. This harsh stance makes them an enemy of practically every other organization in existence, a hatred the Walkers weather with their immense knowledge and powerful scions.

History

After a catastrophic event in the First World expended Vic's reserves of Blood of the First Vein, the Fey crossed the Mirror and stole all of the substance held on the Other Side. This theft happened to coincide with the end of Tommen's journey to find the mythical fluid, which was taken in front of his very eyes, leaving his world to their terrible fate.   The hatred that blossomed in Tommen's chest manifested as the Mantle of the Dark Walker, which has been fueled by Tommen's increasing knowledge of the unfair nature of the cosmos, and the ire of the thousands of others who have held the Mantle since its creation. Of note, it was later picked up by Delikul, who Tommen had personally selected as his apprentice, and then transferred to David after the first End Day. At the fall of Azlant, the Mantle chose Siren as the first lodestone to hold the Mantle in Tyrnog, who used its power to lead the Knights of Mystic Fire in the Mirror of Azlant.   In this iteration of the Infinities, the Mantle has selected Mist to be its bearer as the next End Day approaches, and has recently accepted his Edict.

At War

While the Cult of the Elder Mythos and the Dark Walkers have a similar goal (the destruction of this universe), their desired results couldn't be more different. While the Dark Walkers want this Petal to be a vessel of neutral rebirth, the Cult wants to feed its essence to the Outer Gods. All desire to negotiate fell away hundreds of Iterations ago, and thus the two organizations now kill each other on sight.

At War

As their names suggest, both factions of Walkers have a long history of hating each other, and the Dark Walkers in particular take great pride in thinning the Walkers in Light of their numbers.
