Pash-ti

The capital of the Flietch-ta Empire is a city of ancient stone buildings found along the shore of Lake Dallac. This low-lying flood plain - extending to where the lake narrows and spills into the Pontrien River is one of the few pieces of arable land in the Empire. And while a narrow strip of the city actually reaches the water, the bulk of it winds its way into the foothills to the west as the farmland is more valuable for potatoes, turnips, and other Frosted Mountain vegetables.

Its buildings may remind one of Nosferius, wide at the base and narrowing as they rise, if it were made of stone and painted in earth-tone. Most buildings have tall, twelve foot or higher stories, although few reach above three stories. Its many alleys twist and wind, but its avenues are broad and clear, lined with evergreen trees from the surrounding highlands.

It boasts several large open air markets, including the Slave Market where Orks and Goblins collected on raids to the west meet their fate. Street vendors are common - often selling snacks of roasted meat on the bone and potato's, cut into strange shapes and fried in wide-bottomed pans to order. Races other than Flind, however, are not common. One might reasonably encounter an Elynthi merchant or Khadric craftsmen, but few Humans have ever ventured this far north.

Like all of the Frosted Mountains, winters are long, dark, and brutal. Summers bring humidity, thunderstorms, and long days with wild swings in temperature. Beings so close to the mountains helps moderate snowfall, however, and the city street sweepers clear the major avenues and walkways daily.

Meaning "the Imperial Arm" in Flind, the capital is a critical seat of power for the Emperor. Depending upon is relative strength, his rule might not extend beyond the city walls, with the great houses each ruling their own fiefdoms independently. Stronger emperors, however, command a formidable nation from the Imperial Lodge, a magnificent wooden retreat high in the western hills that serves as both the imperial residence and seat of government. Supplicants to the emperor must make the journey of ten-thousand stairs up winding streets for an audience.
