Gryphon's Crossing
Of the towns, Gryphon’s Crossing, with a population of 600 is the largest. Resting at the fork of the Gryphon and Redstone River , the town is the true melting pot of the Hinterlands. It is the major trading town for the Hinterlands, with farmers gathering on Ninthday’s to meet with merchants and trade their goods. Many artisans take advantage of the traffic through this town, and the finest of them have set up shops here. The town is also the home to more taverns and inns than any other in the Hinterlands. In addition to trade traffic, these fine (and not-so-fine) establishments make good money serving the soldiers from nearby Fort Malakar. With nearly 300 soldiers stationed at the fort at all times, evenings on the town are often rowdy, though given the soldiers presence, generally crime free. Considered by many the “capital”, the Wise Women of the Hinterlands hold their seasonal meetings here, at the Inn of the Flowering Rose.
