Cattail Hotel
Calling this establishment a hotel is akin to calling a Hinterland homestead a palace. Built on eight slightly uneven pilons, the whole etablishment tilts ever so slightly to the southwest - at least until there is a big storm and the churning waters shift the foundations. In the small common room sit three irregularly oval tables surrounded by stools of varying heights. Whatever meat - generally fish or waterfowl - that makes it on the menu is roasted on a small porch out back alongside a small clay oven that bakes bread. Patrons are served a reddish sour beer by a rotating cast of equally sour innkeeps. With little traffic in Farthington there is little demand for their three meager rooms on the second floor. The inn seems to change proprietors at least once a season, alternating between adventure seeking expatriates from Drakkar and Rathgar and down on their luck farmers wishing futility for a second source of income.
