Flying Squirrel
The Flying Squirrel is a remarkable creature, a small mammal capable of gliding through the air. It possesses a unique membrane of skin, called a patagium, that stretches between its front and hind legs, allowing it to soar from tree to tree. These agile creatures are primarily nocturnal, their large, round eyes adapted to see in low light conditions. Their fur is typically a soft gray or brown on the back, with a lighter underside. Flying Squirrels are primarily herbivores, feeding on nuts, seeds, fruits, and insects. They inhabit forests and woodlands, their graceful glides a mesmerizing sight amongst the trees.
