Burrowing Owl
The Burrowing Owl is a small, nocturnal owl with a distinctive appearance. It has long legs and a short tail, and often perches on the ground rather than on branches. These owls are well-adapted to life underground, frequently nesting in burrows dug by other animals, such as prairie dogs or badgers. They are found in open grasslands, prairies, and deserts, where they hunt for insects, small mammals, and reptiles. Despite their small size, Burrowing Owls are fierce hunters and play an important role in their ecosystems.
