Arc-Throwers

Can't find a weapon, but still need to fight? Click HERE to see Unarmed Techniques and Damage.
Arc-Throwers are a great non lethal option. Using a low-energy laser to ionize an air-path to the target, then releasing an artificial, high voltage, medium amp artificial lightning bolt. they bathe a wide area in front of them with electrical carnage.   The average Arc-Thrower has the following stats   Weapon Skill: Heavy Weapons
Damage: 4d6
Standard Magazine: 8 (Battery Pack)
Rate of Fire: 1
Hands Required: 2
Attachment Slots: 0
Concealable: No
A Poor Quality weapon will jam on a Critical Fumble on their Attack Checks
An Excellent Quality weapon will have a +1 to its Attack Checks
Instead of ammunition, Arc-Throwers use a rechargable battery pack. It takes 1 hour to recharge, provided you have access to a power source, and extras can be purchased for 50 eb.   Arc-Throwers are incompatible with all ammo types other than their own Battery Pack, Rebuilds, Magazine Attachments,     You can't make an Aimed Shot with an Arc-Thrower, nor can they deal critical injuries or ablate armour. If damage dealt by an Arc-Thrower would reduce damage to under 1 HP, they are instead Unconscious at 1 HP.   When you fire an Arc-Thrower, you make 1 Ranged Attack vs. a DV13. If successful, everyone in a 10m, 40 degree cone takes 4d6 damage. Individuals who can dodge bullets can still attempt to dodge this attack.

E-TACK Public Defender:

The E-TACK Public Defender was a short-lived new police standard during the 4th Corporate War. This pistol came with a built-in Arc-Thrower that gave officers the option of lethal or less-than-lethal force at just a thought but was discontinued due to the difficulty of mentally switching between the two modes in combat situations.   This Poor Quality Arc-Thrower lacks a trigger and comes permanently installed with the Smartgun Link weapon attachment. It is only capable of connecting to a Subdermal Grip, which is required for it to operate. Whenever you fire this weapon, you can choose to use either its lethal setting, or its less-than-lethal setting. It's less-than-lethal setting acts as an Arc-Thrower, except that it only requires a single hand, deals 3d6 damage, and targets a single enemy using the Heavy Pistol range table. Unlike other Arc-Throwers, the E-TACK can be used to make Aimed Shots.   It's lethal setting fires the shot as a Poor Quality Heavy Pistol would, taking ammo from a separate, 8 shot magazine.

Militech Aegis:

These are pretty ancient, actually. I recovered them from a sunken airtight shipping container that was supposed to be delivered to the NCPD for testing. The date on the manifest was a week after the Fourth Corporate war hit Night City. Supposed to be "less-lethal" -- whatever that means.   -Woodchipper
  A Poor Quality Arc-Thrower

Militech Aegis (circa 2049):

This modern version of the classic 2030 Aegis is still produced by modern manufacturers, all of the arc-throwing fun, none of the occasional ancient electronics to short out in the most inopportune moments.   A Standard Quality Arc-Thrower

Pursuit Security Inc. Yellowjacket:

Reliable handheld arc-thrower designed to drop a target without killing them.   A Standard Quality One-Handed Arc-Thrower that can only be fired in Single Shot mode using the Heavy Pistol range table. Unlike other Arc-Throwers, this one can be used to make Aimed Shots. It deals 3d6 damage instead of the normal 4d6 of an Arc-Thrower.
