Emperor of Therengia Blaine Archibald Gifford (a.k.a. The Fat Baron)
Once known as the Baron of Therengia, Blaine Gifford declared himself Emperor in early 222.

General Physical Condition
Baron Gifford is a tall, pudgy man. He has thinning, black hair that is silvering around his temples.
Identifying Characteristics
Gifford has a long scar running along the left side of his face and onto his neck, extending well below his collarbone; a gift from the Drake which slew both of his brothers.
Specialized Equipment
On the occasions than Blaine goes on hunting trips, he carries the usual equipment of a ranger, as well as a very peculiar crossbow he had designed, years ago, by a group of Gnomish tinkers and Dwarven smiths. Very few people have gotten a look at this crossbow, but it appears to be made of a dark, almost black wood for a stock, and polished to an unearthly shine on it's metallic parts.

Personal history
Blaine Gifford was born the third son of the Baron, and knew from a young age that he would never inherit the title. At the age of seventeen, he and his two eldest brothers, along with a retinue of personal guards and trackers, went on a hunting trip into the Zaulfung Forest . While on this trek, the majority of the party, including both of his brothers, were slain in an attack by a drake. Blaine and his valet were the only two survivors, and his valet succumbed to his wounds a few days after the incident, leaving Blaine the only one to carry the news home to Therenborough, from where they'd been hunting outside Riverhaven .
Seven years later, just after his 24th birthday, Blaine's father, Archibald, fell whilst inspecting the roof of a newly built cathedral in Therenborough, striking his head. Blaine became Regent for the Barony for eleven days before his father passed, converting him from Regent of the Barony to Baron of Therengia.

Sexuality
Blaine has courted a number of women of the course of his life, though he has never taken a bride, nor has any woman come forth claiming to be pregnant or to being the mother of an heir. Innumerable women have sat at his side at feasts and parties as his date for the evening, but not once have the massive bells in Therenborough Citadel rung on the occasion of his marriage.
Education
Blaine was formally educated in many things as a child, from studies of the Divine, trying his hand at the arcane, and learning the arts of smithing, masonry, and carpentry from an assortment of Dwarf, Human and Elven teachers. He did well at scholarly pursuits, but enjoyed his time in the outdoors most of all.
Accomplishments & Achievements
Baron Gifford has turned much of Therenborough into a religious icon; temples, shrines, and houses of worship exist on every corner. Though construction is not slated to begin until 223AV, he has already approved the plans and earmarked funding for a massive temple complex to be built, one which will dwarf even the largest temples in the entire world.

As Blaine ages, his pursuits become less and less physical, and far more time is spent drinking wine, hunting (typically from horseback), or hosting massive feasts and meetings involving wine, revelry and far-too-much debauchery.

Baron Gifford hates elves, and doesn't make an effort to hide the fact. Though no one can be sure, it is often discussed that he makes many of his political decisions based solely on the damage it can deal to Elven kind.
