Ricardo Butler

An ex-archivian known for his controversial views on Imperial culture and politics. I commissioned him to author numerous articles for the Lendorian Encyclopaedia that you are reading now. Many questioned my wisdom in choosing his services, but despite his dubious ethical behaviour, none can doubt his remarkable Imperial knowledge.
His most popular articles are the one-minute interviews he conducts with random Lendorians he meets on the streets of Imperias City.

Ricardo Butlers Powers: 

Ricardo Butler gave me a concise list of his Sorce Abilities. (Whether it's true or not is open to debate - it is likely he exaggerates some of his more remarkable abilities).

1. He claims to be the same age as the The Queen - although nobody believes it.
2. Parts of his skin are a hybrid of metal and tissue. (Allegedly, because of the war the White Lord fought when he materialised on Lendor, year 0). He possesses a metal leg, which he keeps hidden to avoid shocking Lendorians and is the reason he spends so much time sitting. (I can attest to seeing his metal leg - It really is a piece of art.)
3. He can read the feelings and intentions of those near him. Helpful in keeping him safe from his numerous enemies. If he needs a more intimate reading, he requires skin touch. (Explained below)
4. He's learnt the gift of entering animals' minds and controlling their attitude. (Why anyone would want to enter the mind of an animal is beyond me).

Mind Snap:

And lastly, we come to his greatest gift. Just touching a being allows him to enter their mind and see what they see through their eyes. In this state, he can also choose to sense their feelings. This gift allows him to conduct his one-minute interviews with surprising accuracy and no regard for privacy issues.
He also uses it to compile his famous Memoirs of the Ordinary - an everyday look (some call it an invasion) into the minds of the common folk of Imperias City.
A mind snap requires massive amounts of essence to fuel, so he only does this on special occasions. If Butler hovers around you like a love-struck balter-stalker, he's likely stealing all your secrets. If he continues to stay for several hours, that means your mind is worth investigating, so don't take it personally. It's when he passes you on the street without a second glance that you should worry - For that means your mind is as empty as Butler's purse after a few hours in his local brewery.

He just needs a touch for his Sorce to find the truth, but it takes a heavy toll on his body, requiring energy-sapping concentration and the sight of a Sorce being activated in a park often causes concerned screams. Ricardo will, of course, scream back his opinion on the matter.

Anger Issues:

Ricardo Butler has few friends due to his cynical nature and tendency to argue tirelessly with anyone who disagrees with him. If he's had a few greggles and takes a solid dislike to you, he'll try to attack you with his essence-powered metal leg. However, don't worry too much, for he has no martial arts training and typically ends up crashing to the floor like a bag of potatoes.

A Different Man:

Despite Ricardo's scruffy appearance, he scrubs up well, as proven by this picture. He even ironed his jacket! I believe this was the day for his Archivian interview to get the job of managing this encyclopaedia. Obviously, after getting the job, he has returned to his scruffy appearance once again.
