Imperial Culture

This page provides a brief snapshot of some of the more unique cultural aspects of Imperial Society.

Chucker Pits

Chucker pits are outdoor locations for Imperials to train their bodies - often located in parks and consist of various heavy stones that can be lifted to increase your strength. The weights are colour-coordinated, so the darker the stone, the heavier it weighs.   The best lifters enter competitions to prove who is the strongest pit chucker, although Aura-gifted individuals are not allowed to compete.

On the left, we see the mighty Pit Chucker champion, Gabriella Gunter (6ft 6" / 270 pounds of pure muscle), going through her warm-up routine before she moves onto the seriously heavy weights. She wears a personalised Tatrin Premium skin-tight leotard to further enhance her ample feminine proportions - A fashion style influenced by the Fein, including bleached hair and vibrant face make-up.
Her greatest rival, Sarah Karsten (6ft 5" / 250 pounds), on the right, has given Gabriella many riveting battles over the years.   Imperials often come from all parts of Tenglan to see the strongest Chuckers lift insanely heavy weights. Regional and National Competitions continue throughout the year until the finals are held in Imperias City.

Street enticers

Imperial enticers are street performers who have spent years honing their bodies and developing skills to perform life-threatening feats like knife-juggling and fire-eating to entertain their audience.

The pictures show Stofi Kelis and his twin Brother Cody Kelis wearing the silky Tatrin plus clothing and performing dangerous moves using their modified aero-hoop weapon that one action could remove a limb. During their act, Stofi gives his best pout to entice any nearby wealthy patrons. If one is interested, they will take either of the twins away for a few hours (or days) and will expect to receive services of an intimate nature. In return, they will buy expensive gifts for the enticer, who then sells them to make some healthy essence coin. The Queen has banned sex for payment within the capital, so this is one of the legal ways around her decree.

Shiner Trees

Each city in Tenglan has a Shiner tree that Imperials attempt to climb, either for competitive sport or simply to stay healthy. Shiners are massive trees, found in every Tenglan City, that loom several hundreds of feet into the sky - the most famous of which is The Ganay Tree found in Imperias City and named after the current King.

Imperial Fashion

(See Tatrin Fabric for more details)   In keeping with the sacred colours of the Auraes, male and female Imperial fashion focuses on bright, vibrant colours using the glossy and more expensive Tatrin Premium. The pictures reveal the typical daily wear for civilians living in Imperias City. In the North of Tenglan, the locals prefer Tatrin Natural, offering a thicker, warmer material and also Tatrin Texturted of leather and thick fur. The locals of the hotter Southern region wear looser fitting Tatrin Plus to necessitate the airflow needed for the sweltering humid conditions.

Imperias Female Style:

Low-cut dresses or tight-fitting leggings are the most popular waistwear matched with bright short-sleeved shirts. With the increased influx of Fein and Riktus entering Imperias City, local style has evolved.   Thus, tribal essence tattoos and clothing affectations like flower accessories have flourished in popularity, providing a healthy profit for the city's merchants. (The same applies to some males - See Kolfi above.)   Hats come in a variety of shapes and sizes, with the less well-off individuals investing in larger hats to offer ample rim storage to collect the Lord's Essence. Tatrin is the perfect material for Imperial clothing for its ability to retain any essence that sticks to it - Thus allowing the individual's EC Machine to collect more of the precious Lord's gift.

Imperias Male Style:

The rise in Battle Balt popularity and the rebirth of the balter celebrity has had a dramatic effect on recent male fashion.   Revealing as much skin as possible has never been so popular - Long leggings replaced by tight shorts, Shirts removed to show bare chests and sleeveless shirts worn to show off muscular biceps.   A slightly more disturbing cultural shift is the sudden increase in Scar shops popping up all over Tenglan - allowing civilians to get customised scars that mimic those found on their favourite balters.   Seen here, on the left, modelling the latest Imperial fashions is Cleris Dumont - famous for his inspirational oil paintings, many of which Claytus Tome commissioned for use in our Lendorian Encyclopaedia.

Class System

The Imperias City class system explained - also applies to several other cities within Tenglan.

Elista

The Elista are an organisation created by the Queen to protect the interests of the people. Their most influential members live in the Purista District of each Tenglan city.
