Haru

The Glorious Haru Happiness-And-Reason Of-Moonlight-East (a.k.a. Haru)

When both moons shine at their fullest, Haru is made regent of the world.   Haru is the only living member of the Lunar Pantheon, walking the Earth as both god and immortal. Haru focuses on the material and immediate over the long-term machinations of the other Lunar Gods, preferring to build relationships and connections with other living beings or immortals. They are known as the Wandering God for this reason- they often appear seemingly out of nowhere, offer assistance or request a service in repayment of an ancient debt, and leave mysteriously. Haru is a magician of immense power, able to resurrect the dead and alter the world in fantastic ways.
They are often known as the leader of Solars, with most solar tribes and groups looking to Haru as something of a moral guide and spiritual leder.

Divine Domains

Haru is the God of Light, Healing, Wisdom, Solars, Second Chances, Mysteries, and Flame. They are associated with Continual Flame, Sun-tail plants, and diamonds.

  • A circle containing a smaller circle, often with a dot or star in the very center
  • A fiery star/The North Star
  • The hawk constellation (also known as Hadria)
  • A sun containing a moon

Tenets of Faith

  • Think before acting and think unselfishly about what you have done so that you may do better going forward
  • Understand the world and understand your self
  • Every being contains its own unique true purpose, which must be uncovered through self-analysis and focus. Only you can discover your purpose.
  • All life is sacred and should be preserved when possible
  • Material possessions and attachments only bring unhappiness.
  • Every person is born free to move and speak as they please, and no government or group should interfere with that

Holidays

The religion of Ayshanism includes the Haruwon- a holiday celebrating the ascent of Haru. This holiday begins with a day of solemn prayer, fasting, and meditation, culminating in a minute of absolute quiet at high noon. The evening sees this solemn day broken with a grand feast and joyous festival. Balloons, kites, and floating lanterns are all sent up to the heavens, some priests engage in fire dancing, and all sorts of games take place.

Divine Goals & Aspirations

  • The protection of Solars.
  • The safety of his descendants and family
  • The recording of as much of the world and its history as possible and the safekeeping of those records
  • The end of the manipulation of mortals by other Lunar Gods or Immortals.
  • The collection of favors and power for some sort of unknown ongoing project he refuses to disclose
  • The inspiration of as much unique philosophy and wisdom as possible among mortals

Personal history

Haru was born to the Eastern solar migrant tribe of "Of-Moonlight-East"- a group of around 300 that trekked from Samvara to Ibith and back every year. Haru was an inquisitive and ponderous child, drawn heavily to outsiders. Always happy to be among the tribe's merchants, Haru chose a non-Solar name for himself and insisted he be called "Haru" rather than "Happiness-and-Reason". Over time, they became increasingly fascinated with Samvaran religion and worked to master the magical art of Druidism. As they traveled, they wrote their observations and philosophical musings down for other druids, and became well-known among elites as 'that Solar Druid Author'.   In the 550DE, Haru chose to leave the tribe temporarily to attend a conference of druids in modern-day Pritinam. There, druids from across Samvara were meeting to discuss plans to try and create a permanent cure for Gem Plague. No cure could be found but one: the powerful Healing Tree of distant Ibith, what the locals called the Isethra, which contained the divine power to cure any injury or ailment. Haru, the only one to have been to Ibith, confirmed its existence as well as its impossibly great distance. Haru was chosen as the guide for a great expedition to the Isethra, one of three druids sent to try and talk to the tree and extract any possible cure from it. If all else failed, the plan was to grant it sentience and awaken it with the greatest magic the three druids could muster.   The expedition was hard on the group, who lacked Haru's ease of travel. It took them 9 years to make it there, only to discover that the Isethra held no wisdom and could not be easily transported back. When they attempted their spells and experiments, the Isethra's Guardian- a massive teleporting rodent immortal named Bobito- proceeded to assault them and drive them off. They began to face raids and conflict with local tribes friendly to Bobito, and the entire expedition began crumbling. The other two druids left for their own plans. Naram, the human druid, left to fulfill a divine vision directing him to drink from the pond beneath Isethra to cure his Gem-Plague infected son. Aspen, the dryad druid, left to hire bandits to clear a path and distract Bobito while he would awaken the tree. Haru, alone, went to a cave and meditated on the path forward.   Haru was contacted by The Masked One and The Chimera, who manifested as spirits beside him. He conversed with them, learning about The Architects, the lack of divine plan, the presence of "The Static", and the futility of the quest in Ibith. Halcyon then offered Haru a place on the Lunar Pantheon and charged Haru with the task of monitoring the mysterious "Static" which seemed beyond the Architect's powers of limited omniscience. To help them with this task, they gave Haru a vastly extended youthful lifespan, the ability to astral project around the world and into Heaven to fulfill Lunar Pantheon duties, and a blessing of Eternal Peace. This blessing makes it so that no creature can attack or cast spells on Haru unless they either consent or attack first. And while Haru's faith in divine intent was shaken, their faith in divine benevolence grew- and they became the first Life Cleric.   Haru has since become the de-facto leader of Solar tribes and nations around the world (though they rarely ask these groups to do much). They wander the world, observing, documenting, and preparing for whatever comes. Haru was been relatively detached from the rest of the Lunar Pantheon for this reason- they have much on the planet to attend to.

Gender Identity

Haru is gender-fluid, having identified as male, female, and non-binary at different times throughout their long life. This is considered normal for solars (particularly Western solars), and Haru is quite comfortable with any pronoun- though they often associate different genders/pronouns with different periods of their life. In 2020ME, they identify as male.

Family Ties

Haru became friends with Aysha quickly after meeting her in 140ME, and helped her build the city of Suwirsha in 200ME. Haru and Aysha flirted and entered temporary romantic relationships from 400 to 800, before entering a polyamorous relationship with a mutual friend in 820. They married formally and decided to have kids in 870ME, beginning the Seraja bloodline in 900- an honored and often-deified family of solars. Haru no longer lives in Surwirsha, but has returned to travelling and observing.   Even after Haru left Suwirsha for the last time in 1300, they remained close to their extended family. Haru often stays in close contact with many members of the Seraja family and many choose to adventure alongside them.
