Jade Atharzen

Her Divinity Jade Atharzen

When the large moon is dark but the small moon is bright, Jade is made regent of the world.   Jade is one of the more cynical Gods of the Lunar Pantheon. She plays out her conflicts with the other Lunar Gods openly, competing with them for material influence and power. She is a strong believer in authority and works as kingmaker to try and place the most effective and competent candidates on thrones of whatever kingdom she can influence. She demands respect from those who contact her, but those who contact her respectfully will find her quite helpful.   Jade is not a peaceful or egalitarian god, as she glorifies honorable rule and combat. She demands that her paladins to obey legitimate rulership, dispense justice, and approach combat properly to avoid civilian casualties. You might think of her paladins as true knights, bound to codes of conduct and often serving a temple or state. She does not demand worship from her paladins, but she does expect them to act as her agents on the ground opposing those paladins of rival demigods. Those who serve her honorably, she promises a place in her section of the afterlife, regardless of race or creed.   The Empire of Calazen  in Inahng is her personal domain on the planet, and all Half Prisms are descended from her. The Nedira and Metena religious traditions revere her as a god of importance.

Personal history

Jade was born to the early Prism mine-settlement of Deephold. Deephold was an isolated settlement deep in the Adira Mountains, in modern day Athasha, where multiple Prism clans worked together to mine and build. Deephold, in the earliest of eras, had come under attack by the settlement of Frostmount- a rival hold on top of the nearby mountain. Frostmount had seized much of the surface and had begun bullying the surrounding peoples- and so, Deephold sent its finest warriors against them. Jade, young and eager to avenge her people, was among them. She had always been more of a surface-Prism, and had been a mercenary for a short time before Frostmount had begun its reign of terror. Jade led her small band against them, and found herself knocked out and captured.   Held for ransom in Frostmount, she found herself sharing a prison with Ghavi, son of The Chimera and legendary demigod. She used his distractions and powers to escape and free him as well- and smuggled him into Deephold. There, Ghavi adjusted to the mountainous climate and learned the fighting styles and rules of prism warfare. Ghavi and Jade become close companions and battle-partners, fighting the forces of Frostmount and slaying the leader, Onyx of Frostmount, in open combat.   Returning to Deephold, Jade wished to join Ghavi back at the land of Calazen. There, they married- much to Ghavi's mother's annoyance. Ghavi had a human lifespan, and an heir was needed- and so, The Chimera and Halcyon came down and allowed them to produce Half Prism heirs to bind their families together and begin the Othgovi family. Even after Ghavi's death, Jade ruled as Dowager Empress until her late death. Later, she was resurrected to join the Lunar Pantheon.
