Sudraco
A sudraco - known in its native land as a ritsea and commonly as a galloping crocodile - is a terrestrial crocodilian the size and speed of a horse. Slightly less agile than ordinary crocodiles in water but extremely fast on land, the sudraco is a dangerous predator in the wild. Luckily, it has been largely domesticated and bred for war, racing, hunting, and hauling.
Sudraco are a major part of Inahng's culture as a symbol of religiosity and aristocracy. They were created by The Chimera as a gift to Yena, the first queen of Calazen at the dawn of civilization.
Basic Information
Anatomy
The standard sudraco is similar to a nile crocodile in appearance, but with their legs positioned forward- like those of a horse or dog (see the historical Iberosuchus for reference). Dark green, black, brown, or grey scales cover their body, and their yellow eyes are directed forward. The coloration, build, and size can vary based on breed.
Ecology and Habitats
Sudraco excel most when they have access to both freshwater wetlands and more arid shrubland. They can thrive anywhere with freshwater river or lake access, however, as long as it isn't cold. In more temperate areas, they can enter a winter hibernation if they have access to abundant food.
Additional Information
Geographic Origin and Distribution
Most sudraco are located in the river valleys of Inahng, with the largest population of sudraco in the Calazen river. They have since spread around parts of the world- Stildane, parts of Suneka, Nafena, and even a few select locations in Samvara and Garadel. Few to none can be found in Ekraht, Sonev, Desmia, or Ibith.
Average Intelligence
Sudraco are not wildly intelligent, but have fairly good hunting skills and situational awareness.
