Suneka (place)

The Suneka once meant, roughly "the customs" or "the traditions". It referred to a way of life more than a landmass or even a distinct religion or culture. Over time, the Suneka  came to refer to a way of life that dominated the region, often associated with the land itself. The traditions, the land, and the people were all bound together as one- the region became The Suneka. To outsiders, that the religion and land are of the same name just goes to reinforce an eerie monolithic sameness. To those within, it is just common sense- the religion's boundaries define the region more than any mountain range or river. These shared traditions bind together the peoples plains, the forests, the lakes, the hills, the jungles, the deserts, the swamps, the Savannah. It is an island of unlikely unity in a hostile world.

Geography

The lands of Suneka are divided generally in three: Central Suneka, Runaka to the Southwest, and the Eastern Sunekan fringe. Central Suneka is 1,324,000 square miles of diverse landscape. Four massive freshwater lakes (the largest almost 350 miles long) define the Sunekan heartlands- Lake Tuzeto, Lake Akato, Lake Ganato, and Lake Ikato. Each is surrounded by hyper-arable farmland and subtropical forest that slowly fades into arid plains and hills. In the west, the grassy plains lead to a long hilly peninsula. In the south, they are overtaken again by lush forests and patches of monsoon jungle. The northern plains are intercepted by rivers infected with Ederstone - the lands of Tuweska and Gatrev, where Stildane and Suneka meet.   Runaka is truly massive, at 2,112,000 square miles. With a volcanic center, a desert-plains north, and lush tropical sides, Runaka is less hospitable than its neighbors but almost twice as large.   The Eastern sprawl is grand expanse of coastal land that the Suneka has relentlessly expanded to include. The sprawl is thousands of miles (around 2000 to be exact) long but fairly narrow- the vast Adira mountains keep it fairly close to the coast.

Fauna & Flora

In the Southwestern expanse of Runaka lives great hosts of Yokai: mystical creatures generated by Halycon (and a few by The Masked One ) that follow very specific arcane rules. From armored lions to living coats, the Yokai have helped define the region's culture and religion.
