Inahng

Inahng is a continent apart, isolated by mountains to the West, ocean to the East, tundra to the North, and tropics to the South. At its heart is the legendary Calazen empire, named after the massive river that runs through it. The rest of the continent finds itself orbiting or locked in opposition to Calazen's vast magic, resources, and population.   For much of its history, Inahng considered itself the world. The Adira mountains in the West formed a seemingly endless wall of towering stone, and the vast Eastern ocean seemed uncrossable. While the Prisms of the Adira mountains had their trade routes to Suneka and Stildane, those lands were dismissed as small and distant; strangely, it was Nafena to the far South that Inahng was most closely connected to and imagined as a distant mystical land of exotic wonders. In recent centuries, technology and gradual development has led to closer interactions with Suneka and Stildane.   This long history of isolation has produced a continent of fiercely independent culture. Divine judge-monarchs are the norm here, and legitimacy is decided both by judicial record and magical prowess as much as parentage here. Pedigree remains important for the wealthy, as this land has an old memory- the bloodlines of imperial Calazen go back millennia.

Geography

The great wall of the world and homeland of the Inahng Prisms is the Adira mountain range. 1,300,000 square miles of mountain peaks going as high as 30,000 feet above sea level, these snowcrested peaks are some of the tallest in the world. They are not barren and lifeless, though- there are many great mountain valleys, and the peaks themselves host diverse flora and fauna (as well as a great Prism population burrowing into the mountains themselves).   To the East, the 1,600 mile-long Calazen river runs from the Adira mountains all the way to the Eastern ocean. A great sweeping desert dotted with vast salt flats mark the center of the continent, before turning to shrubland and even forest along the coast. There are 5051 miles of Inan coastline, making Inahng larger than Europe in square mileage.
