Timberreach
For a brief time, Timberreach served as the capital of an organised region within The Swamps of Baycotte under The Ashwoods of Timberreach. The region prospered from the unity the Ashwoods brought, able to form a much larger response to problems than the smaller, isolated settlements could otherwise.
The city itself was made up of buildings built on stilts, or on platforms attached to trees, to raise them high above the swamp, sparing it from many of the risks of its location so close to The Branching Serpent.
Despite the devastating flood apparently being Prophecied by A Swamp-Witch, the city-folk ignored the warnings to leave the city, and so the death-toll was in the thousands.
King Tyon I Cray and his Kingsguard passed through the ruins in 442KS, wherein two of his knights encountered The Bloated Victims of Drowner's Lung, and one of them became exposed to the disease, carrying it out of the ruins to spark an epidemic in The Kingdom of Somercrag.

Flooding
In 433KS, following fierce summer storms over The Witwell Mountains, the Branching Serpent flooded as had never been seen before, bringing devastation across Eastern Baycotte. By the time the floodwaters reached Timberreach they carried such weight in debris as well as water that the stilts and piles supporting the city were shattered. At Ashwood House, so much debris and silt was deposited that the floodwaters were driven up, over the platform the hosue was built upon, filling the manor with floodwater and half burying it in the process.Despite the devastating flood apparently being Prophecied by A Swamp-Witch, the city-folk ignored the warnings to leave the city, and so the death-toll was in the thousands.
Drowner's Lung
Not long after the city's flooding, an attempt was made to reclaim the ruins as the basis for a new settlement. For a matter of months this attempt was successful, reclaiming some of the more intact structures on the South-Western side of the ruins. But as the new settlement expanded further into the city, those tasked with clearing the ruins and salvaging what could be began to show signs of a malady that would eventually be revealed to be Drowner's Lung. With the damp, humid conditions of the ruins, the disease spread rapidly through the settlers. Michael was the only known survivor, forced to excise his own diseased flesh to prevent it spreading through his body.King Tyon I Cray and his Kingsguard passed through the ruins in 442KS, wherein two of his knights encountered The Bloated Victims of Drowner's Lung, and one of them became exposed to the disease, carrying it out of the ruins to spark an epidemic in The Kingdom of Somercrag.
