Vir'thelgos

The capital city of the Kingdom of Lorth’elon. It is home to the Moonlight Elective, the reigning monarch and is the centre of religious worship to the moon.
Vir’thelgos is a very old city, rebuilt after the Fall of Arcanum, it is cloaked in eternal night by a powerful magical enchantment so as to always be able to see the moon. 
The majority of Vir’thelgos' population are Moon Elves.

Government: 

The monarch of the Kingdom of Lorth’elon and the Moonlight Elective rule the kingdom from the city.

Defence: 

The city is protected by a large garrison of the Silver Hand, the local law enforcement.

Commerce: 

Trade comes in and out of the city from neighbouring villages and cities. It is also connected to a large underground tunnel network where many precious ore and gems are mined. 
Most of any goods or services can be found within the city walls.

Geography: 

Nestled protectively within a deep valley alongside the Silver Mountains and looking out over the Gray Muirs, lies the majestic and beautiful city of Vir’thelgos. Once a ruin in the aftermath of the Fall of Arcanum, it was quickly rebuilt back to glory. 
The city is made up of grandiose towers, and crystalline cathedrals that soar into the sky, mingled with a sprawl of delicately crafted buildings or wood and stone, many rebuilt up from the city ruins. 
The city is made up of a series of layers, each layer becoming grander as you rise, eventually reaching the Palace of Selene, built into the mountainside.
There are five layers all of which curve around the mountain like slanted discs, with each layer separated by a wall and connected by a series of gates along them.

The Low Roads: 

The lowest layer, just within the outer walls is the poorer housing of the city as well as many industrial institutions. 
The Low Roads are a sprawl of terrace houses squeezed into every available space. It has many affordable shops, taverns and businesses.

The Lucid Ring: 

The second layer is mostly housing, an ordered network of buildings set into ring-like shapes with a courtyard at their centre. 
The Lucid Ring is also the home of the Silver Hand barracks and the city Prison, Pencala.

The Mosaic Boulevard: 

The third layer is named after the cacophony of colourful buildings that fill it, the Mosaic Boulevard is the home of the majority of businesses with lies of shops and market stalls.

The High Spires: 

The fourth layer is filled with many towers, where it gets its name. The homes of the majority of the noble elite are located here, like the members of the Moonlight Elective.
It is also the location of the Grand Temple of Selene, the main place of worship in the city where the majority of the population gather on the 15th of every month.

The Palace Grounds: 

The final and highest layer is the location of a beautiful garden and the royal palace, a beautiful building of white stone, made up of tall spires with the centre one reaching up to the moon.
