Mahlduhr
Mahlduhr is a large farming town located in central Elderan, situated on the western banks of Lake Darquin. A high number of the town's population are Dwarves.
Mahlduhr is under the jurisdiction of the Kingdom of Dun'Vol, and is home to the largest population of people in the kingdom, after the capital of Dun'Vol. Mahlduhr is also the largest producer of food in Elderan, being surrounded by acres of arable farmland that stretches to the north, west and south of the town. The crops and animal products produced by Mahlduhr feed much of the Kingdom of Dun'Vol and the Kingdom of Lorth'elon, with it's produce traded across Elderan.
Government
Mahlduhr is governed by a Burgomaster, who is appointed by the Kingdom of Dun'Vol.
Defence
Mahlduhr is defended by a garrison of Stonewatch, the local guard of the Kingdom of Dun'Vol.
A small fleet of warships, the Dun'Vol navy, are also sometimes docked at Mahlduhr.
Commerce
Mahlduhr is the primary producer of food in Elderan, being surrounded by acres of farmland, which produce vast quantities of crops, like wheat and vegetables, each harvest, as well as animal products, from meat to milk and cheese. Mahlduhr also has a small fishing trade, which are caught from the nearby Lake Darquin.
Most of the produce harvested in Mahlduhr is traded across Elderan via the local harbour, shipped across Lake Darquin to feed much of Dun'Vol, and even being shipped up the Rhun River, to Isilrhûd, where it goes to feed the settlements of the Kingdom of Lorth'elon, as part of long maintained trade deals.
Geography
The town of Mahlduhr is situated on the western banks of Lake Darquin, with a decently sized harbour located on the lakefront, which is often docked by multiple vishing vessels, as well as the occasional trade ship and warship.
The town itself is relatively small for it's population, being a cluster of simple, mostly wooden, buildings, centred around a central market that opens up onto the harbour, selling all manner of food products.
Most of the population live of the hundreds of farmsteads located on the town's outskirts, tending to the acres of farmland that stretch to the north, almost to the Elderna Woodlands, to the west, connecting to the farms of Karalkul, and to the south, almost reaching the Rhunwood.
