Guidance
Located in the dense mountains of Colorado, the Temple of Guidance serves as a beacon for those who feel like an outcast in their own bodies. It is a place to reflect, to learn, and to enlighten.
On paper, the Temple of Guidance is a body modification shop, where people can undergo gene-therapy, have modifications installed, and undergo entire replacement of body parts. In reality, it is a place where patrons can enter a relaxed state of mind, and seek guidance on who they want to be and how to get there.
There, atop the peaks of the sharp Rocky mountains, I saw a complex of stone and concrete towers. Meticulously planted sections of greenery broke up the brutalist architecture. Guidance complimented its natural granite home rather than substitute it.
I look forward to my gondola ride, already I could spot their small oval silhouettes drifting between the peaks of the complex and the welcoming area below.
