Beikatrótans

The Beikatrótans1 are a Mörkel tribe inhabiting Beikatrót on the western edge on the Plain of Kings, on the coast of Narra'tonei Sea. Like the Áhalíans to the north, they are the only major ethnic in the kingdom, as they were the first people to settle in the region and managed to resist the Dagtían conquests later on.

Warfare

Beikatrótan warriors often wear distinct horned helmets -with the horns either made of bronse or hyrning tusks- along with striped orange and white cloaks, and usually green and yellow wraparound loincloths. They are usually defended by leather armour and shield as well, and carry spears and daggers.

Common Myths and Legends

The patron deity of the Beikatrótans is Aþar, the sun god, whom the kings of the coastal kingdoms worship in a joint ceremony during spring equinoxes and summer solstices. Other important deities include the rain goddess Nexþei, Erkar as god of the sea; Peiþena, goddess of Draapei River; and the storm gods Beðsar and Neðsar, whose battles with sea monsters are believed to be the cause of storms at sea.
Some Beikatrótans worship deities brought by the Ameders -chiefly Kleþra and Telaak2- and, though far less commonly, the Yrels.
