Grigori Staten

Brother Grigori Staten

A missionary and scholar for The Church of the Eternal Dawn famous for his work in Beastkin tribes outside of Eloir.

Missionary Work

Grigori was tasked with acting as a missionary to the Beastkin tribes to the south of the kingdom as part of a broader undertaking by Eloir to open communications and ease tensions between the two territories. At the time, very little was known or understood about the Beastkin in Eloir, a roadblock that the scholarly Brother Staten was eager to help overcome.   For the next five years, Grigori would not just work to spread the doctrine of the Eternal Dawn as a missionary, but also learn about the various tribes and their cultures as a reprsentitive of Eloir as a whole. After having recorded all of his finding and travels, Grigori would compile and publish them within a year of his return to Meriden as the first widely available treatise on the Beastkin.   In the years to follow, Brother Staten's work proved invaluable in establishing relations with the Beastkin through diplomacy and trade before a number of the tribes were annexed into Eloir proper.

Quotes & Catchphrases
"I have trekked miles with my brothers, visiting more villages both inside and out of the kingdom than I could hope to count. And in all that time, I have come to a single, constant truth: this is but one land. One that may build and spread our Dawn to all. Never have I felt that so clear as when I spent my time amongst the Beastkin. Their tribes, their ways, even their homes are all so different from what I have grown accustomed to in Eloir. Yet, still recognize their community, their care for one another. I dare not ignore differences between our people and theirs knowing the efforts it took for myself to overcome them, but as I write, now a man standing on the other side of that trial, I believe I can stand firm in sayin that these are obstacles we can all move past as we build an eternal Dawn together in fellowship."
