Geography

The desert spans for hundreds of miles, dominating the entire centre of the continent. The dunes are dotted with oases and the ruins of the early Elf and Human civilisations that first occupied the region but have long since fell. 
There is one major settlement within the desert, to the west of the desert, the city of Kayaheim
The endless dunes, the spiced air and the sunsets of the desert can make this deadly area beautiful.

History

First settled by the ancient Elven race long ago, who appreciated the beauty of the wild and untamed desert, using the fine sands to great beautiful glass work and their innate magical ability to help create food and water and make havens of art and civilisation in the desert. 
After many centuries, the cities of the Elves died away, moving away to other areas and abandoning their great works which were later found and settled by some among the migrating Kesson humans who built their own settlements within the ruins of the Elven cities.
Today, only one of the cities remain, the free city of Kayaheim on the western edge of the desert. An essential step in the journey for anyone passing east and a major trading hub to this day. 
Since the Last War, in the north-east of Kayaheim The Red Legion have set up in the ruins of an old fort. This mercenary legion of Hrut soldiers has grown into a major player in the region through its wealth and strength of arms.
