Manhattan Detention Complex

The Tomb

The detention complex is a large jail facility in Chinatown. It is mostly used to hold pre-trial detainees of Manhattan. The complex consists of the two buildings the North Tower and the South Tower. The North Tower has been operational since 1983 after an extensive remodel. The South Tower finished construction in 1990 and has been in use since.   The North Tower has been equipped with one of the largest magic-suppression arrays in the world. Within this array the city holds supernatural beings to ensure that they are not as much of a threat as they would be at full strength. And although it does not fully incapacitate the inmates it does help the guards take care of them.   The biggest downside of the array is that half the staff can no longer work in the North Tower as they are therians. This has lead to the realization that some supernatural inmates are better held in either a different facility or in the South Tower as he therians are better suited at subdueing them than the human guards do within the magic-suppression array.   Before the installation of the magic-suppression array the city had plans to close the facility. With as the array was a big investement and it is the only one of its kind in the city the facility will likely be operated for much longer.
