Every Sunday, year-round the Grand Bazaar opens up for business. It offers a wide range of products from local artists, designers, craft-makers, independent vintage/antique dealers, creative entrepreneurs, and artisanal food purveyors. The bazaar attracts many thousand visitors each week. Its mission is to give a platform for these products. All the profits from the bazaar are donated to local public schools.
Location
The Grand Bazaar takes place in a small court yard in
Upper West Side. The yard begins in the corner between Columbus Avenue and 76th West Street. The location is well connected with subway and bus stations nearby. There are several parking spaces in the vicinity as well. The yard belongs to a school building which houses
two schools. On days with bad weather parts of the bazaar take place indoors.
Antique Dealers
There are a number of independent antique dealers present on the bazaar. For the most part, it is just small stuff they pick up on estate sales and storage unit closures. However, two antique dealers who have some renown in the supernatural world regularly sell true treasures.
There is
Aataensic who sells charms, memorabilia and powerful artefacts of Native American origin. Although her focus is pieces of the Northeastern United States she sells items from all over the continent.
The other dealer is an Chinese vampire who specializes in antiques of Chinese origin, but offers a wide range of other antiques.
