Ileas,
A few days have now passed since we left the ruins of Ravensfield and are now further up North than I’ve ever been. The well trodden roads gave way to barely touched grass sticking out from the swamps that are the namesake of the Northern Wetlands.
Our camp was set up under the careful watch of a dead oak tree slowly turning to stone, and the wards put up by Luke. It would hardly bear mention if not for Luke informing us of a dream he had, of being watched by malicious forces in the forest. And with our history of meaningful dreams we agreed to keep an eye out on our subsequent traveling. But things were still quiet when evening approached and we happened on a forested hill a bit off track. Luke shivered from looking at it, but Hayley, who was in quite a good mood the whole day, thought it looked quite safe. In the end we went up to investigate and found that it was a campsite used by travelers in the past with rotten camp supplies as a refuse pile in a corner.
But this was also a ruined altar engraved with druidic inscriptions, referring to ancient Fey spirits called Brother Stalker and Sister Willow. And on top of his usual wards, Luke seemed impressed enough by his dreams and the altar that he asked Gael to hunt him a rabbit that he could then sacrifice to appease the spirits. And despite looking ruined it seems like something answered his sacrifice, as the blood that drained from the rabbit sucked into the altar unnaturally fast and the rabbit withered and rotted, becoming part of the refuse pile. With that we retreated into the magical dome Luke prepared for our safety.
But our rest was interrupted around midnight as I woke up ripped from the safety of Luke’s wards by a Dream Eater, a malicious fey spirit, that managed to bypass its protections and pull me out. Apparently during the watch of Hayley and Liliana a number of them showed up and launched their attacks. In the end we managed to slay them and return some peace to the night.
In the morning Hayley found a doll on the altar, one she remembered from her childhood, though if it had bigger meaning. She wasn´t privy on sharing that meaning but she took an armband off it. And after clearing the camp we left this place behind and continue our travels to Latebra Velora, and our meeting with the Black Knight.
