With their victory at the Battle of Grýmsheim, the Five have bought their fledgling alliance some much needed breathing room. As the leaders of the allies convene for a discussion of long-term strategy, the Five are summoned to Balgus' bedside by an urgent message from an old friend.
After pulling off the daring rescue of Tëlyn from deep within the Spire of Torment, the Five find themselves left with a brief moment of respite to convene with allies and potential sympathizers in Myrraneth and to purchase necessary supplies and materiel for the battles to come.
After hearing of Tëlyn's capture and imminent torture within the darkest spire of Almyrria's high temple, the Five managed to waylay and subdue a prisoner transport. Helped along by a hired trio of doppelgangers, the Five entered the upper districts and the spire itself unchallenged.
After securing a mysterious trunk for Quoric at the Pauper's Quay, the Five discovered the hard way that Quoric is actively wanted by the Cysgodion. After escaping capture, the five regrouped at the Stonekeep Inn and -- consumed by curiosity about its contents -- opened the trunk to reveal the comatose gnome inside. Clutched in his right hand, the Five found a torn scrap of a Lark Banner. With Ned Stonekeep's permission, they have descended into the inn's cellar to confront Quoric about his deception.
After surviving an encounter with one of the mysterious Pale Hunters on the Dro'Uld frontier and a perilous journey through a dwarf-wrought labyrinth, the Five emerge in the subterranean ruins of Rhaidd - the ancient predecessor of Myrraneth, long ago buried beneath the fiery exhalations of the volcano above. An unexpected reunion with the two wayward dwarves brings few answers. With their goal hanging tantalizingly close at hand, the Five press onward and upwards.
The party have successfully wrenched control of the Saorse away from Red Kennagh. Niall has agreed to help them get into Myrraneth, but his ship's unique nature makes sailing into the great harbor impossible. Instead, he charts a course for an undersea cave that will allow the Five to trek through the underdark to the Drow stronghold of Dro'Uld, and from there find entry to Myrraneth's undercity above. Stalked by a massive source of Void energy and faced with leagues of hostile territory to cover, the Five prepare for a difficult journey.
The Five find themselves once again at the nexus of change in Westryn. The Conna have returned home to their ancestral groves. Mòr, weary of war, has all but given up hope of defeating Maeven. Despite the Five's best efforts, her people have scattered and taken shelter throughout the Colmhòr. In a desperate bid to rekindle her hope, the Five journey towards the heart of Maeven's empire, intent on finding a route to victory through the chaotic mess of a war long past winning. With the help of a recently freed pirate and his dubiously trustworthy crew, they venture forth into the wild blue under cover of darkness.
